8mm Overlap Cladding – consisting of rough-cut boards that are overlapped to create the panels of the chest. This type of cladding is easier to manufacture so helps to keep the overall cost of the item down. All four sides of the store are supplied as complete panels ready to be joined together, helping reduce the time required for assembly.
Pressure Treated Against Rot – pressure treating the timber involves preservatives being forced into the timber rather than the preservative just being on the surface of the timber. As a result the timber has enhanced protection so will last longer than untreated timber.
OSB Floor Panel With Bearers – three bearers are supplied to attach to the underside of the floor panel. It should be noted that this Patio Chest is designed to be stood on hard standing and is not to be stood on the ground. The hard standing must be free draining as it cannot be allowed in sit in pooled water during wet conditions.
OSB Roof Panel – supplied as one panel to form the complete roof. This is hinged at the back with large T-hinges. A stay bar is included to secure to the inside of the chest and provide a secure support to hold the lid open when required. A chain is included to be attached to the roof to prevent the lid from opening beyond the vertical position.
Mineral Roofing Felt – this traditional style roofing felt helps to waterproof the roof panels and protect your garden chest from the elements. It’s easy to install once you have the roof panel in place. It’s provided as one piece so there are no overlaps and is held in place using 13mm felt nails.

Timber Information
As timber is a natural material, there are certain weather conditions that may affect the materials properties. In times of excessive dry spells, the material may lose some of its internal moisture causing a certain degree of shrinkage on a panel and in periods of excessive rain there will be a certain amount of swelling throughout the wooden panels. This process can not be avoided. If you have problems with certain boards shrinking in dry spells, try to decrease the amount of direct sunlight on the building or the amount of air passing over the building. During hot speels spray water directly onto the panels with the aid of a garden hose.
