Two great deterrents in one innovative unit this PestFree Plus Ultrasonic Pest Repellent uses both bursts of ultrasonic sound and powerful LED lights to keep your garden free from cats, martens and foxes. It’s compact design and colour makes it easy and discreet to position, whilst it protects an area of up to 947 sq ft. 

The area protected is in front of the unit, a semi-circle a bit like a torch beam. A built-in motion sensor starts the unit when motion is detected. Although cats, martens and foxes should be deterred from the space, other animals, such as birds or rabbits, won’t be affected as this unit it set to emit a sound level which will not affect them.  Dogs can hear the device, but generally speaking it would only be some small dogs that would be affected by the unit. 

Being battery powered means it can be positioned anywhere it’s needed without having to be plugged in. However, if you don’t want to have to replace the battery an optional mains adaptor is available and will increase the volume by up to 20%.

Built In Motion Sensor – with a 33ft / 10 metre range in front of the unit the sensor triggers a 10 second ultrasonic burst (from 20-45 KHz) when motion is detected. The sound will repeat until the animal leaves the protected area.   

Two powerful LED lights – on the front of the unit act as a dual deterrent, startling the animal at the same time as the sound.  

Repellent area – the ultrasonic range is up to 947 sq ft / 88 sq m. The detection range of the motion sensor is 33 ft / 10 metres. It usually takes between 2 to 4 weeks for the unit to protect your garden, however in extreme cases it can take up to 3 months.

An outdoor device – this weather resistant unit is designed to run trouble free all year round, and in most weather conditions.

Wall Mount or use Ground Spike included – to wall mount use a screw (not included) in a wall or fence to fix the unit to, positioning the screw approx. 8 inches / 20cm above the ground. Or attach the ground spike to the base of the unit and push the stake into the ground so that the lens of the unit is between 6-8 inches / 15-20cm above the ground.

Battery powered – always use a Duracell 9 volt battery (MN1604) (not included). We would expect one battery to last for approx. 2-3 months and then need to be replaced. You can test the battery by pushing and holding the button on the front of the unit. If the unit beeps 4 times and flashes the battery is good. Do not use out of date or rechargeable batteries. Use only Duracell alkaline batteries, the use of other batteries can invalidate the warranty.     

Size – 4¾inch / 12cm high x 3inch / 7.5cm wide x 2inch / 5cm deep. The ground spike included is approx. 4¾inch / 12cm tall.

Please note – cat reactions will vary considerably when exposed to the alarm. It can vary from immediate flight to the cat walking towards the unit and settling down in front of it! The first is a timid cat, the second a very territorial cat trying to assert its authority. In the end however the result is the same, both cats will avoid or quickly pass through the area you are protecting. Some white cats, older cats and exotic breeds are hard of hearing in the upper hearing range and may not be affected. Deaf cats will not be affected.
