Allotment Polytunnel 12ft Wide

Traditional Foundation Tubes – this allotment tunnel has a cover which is trenched into the ground. Therefore the foundation tubes supplied simply need to be knocked in the ground, leaving 34-45cm protruding into which the hoops will be fitted.  

Sturdy Framework – constructed from long lasting, supremely strong, 32mm diameter steel hoops coated with Armourguard. This coating helps to create a high endurance tube with up to 20 times the corrosion resistance of pre-galvanised steel tube due to this combined zinc, aluminium, and magnesium coating. The hoops are supplied as a two-piece hoop, making the hoops stronger and making construction easier. These hoops are spaced at either 5ft or 6ft intervals, depending on the length of tunnel chosen.  

Lengths where hoops are 5ft apart: 10ft, 15ft, 20ft, 25ft, 30ft, 35ft, 40ft, 45ft, 50ft, 55ft, 60ft.
Lengths where hoops are 6ft apart: 12ft, 18ft, 24ft, 36ft, 42ft, 48ft.

Anti-Hot Spot Tape – your polytunnel kit is supplied with sufficient tape to place onto the hoops prior to the polythene sheet being fitted. This tape acts as insulation between the metal and the polythene to prevent the build-up of damaging hot spots and reduce the likelihood of the hoops rubbing against the polythene. 

Polythene Cover Options – when ordering choose between either a clear or diffused polythene to cover the polytunnel. Both are a 720 gauge, UV ‘open’ polythene allowing UV light to reach your plants which provides many benefits such as enhanced fragrance, taste, colour, earlier harvesting, and longer post-harvest shelf life. In addition, these films promote plant antioxidants which are good for plant health and encourage stronger growth. The clear polythene has excellent clarity, with light transmission of up to 92% and is a good choice for northern and western regions where lower light levels naturally occur. The light-diffusing polythene scatters the light as it passes through the polythene enabling the light to penetrate deep into the plant canopy as it hits the plants from all directions not just from the direction of the sun. Thanks to its unique anti-condensation additive this diffused polythene can control condensation on the underside of the cover. Light transmission is approx. 2% less than clear, at approx. 90%. 

Timber Door Frames – timber battens are included for you to form the door frames and fix to the end hoop of the polytunnel. 

PVC 3 in 1 Zip / Velcro Door – providing access and ventilation this simple door features two heavy-duty zips and a velcroed panel which can be removed partially or fully for ventilation. Two Velcro tabs can be used to secure the door in place, out of the way, on hot summer days. The door is easy to install, simply baton the door panel to the wooden door frame. When ordering choose from a door at one end or both ends.
