Installing a 14ft Wide Allotment Polytunnel will provide you will a large, protected space for use to raise crops, sheltered from the Great British weather!  

This polytunnel kit includes a strong, steel framework which you can choose to cover with either a clear or diffused 720-gauge cover – simply choose your preference when ordering. To keep costs to a minimum this cover is tensioned using the traditional ‘trenching’ method, simply digging a ditch around the structure, and burying the polythene ends. 

Choose a tunnel with either a door at one or both ends when ordering – for the longer tunnels we would always recommend doors both ends as it allows more ventilation and air circulation during the summer months. 

This range of tunnels have been designed for the DIY enthusiast who is happy to put the time and manual skills required for assembly – ideally two people are needed during construction for joining and anchoring the hoops, fitting the cover, door frames and door.

Standard Features:

Traditional Foundation Tubes – as this range of tunnels features a trenched cover, the foundation tubes are designed to be simply knocked in the ground, leaving 34-45cm protruding into which the hoops will be fitted.  

Sturdy Steel Framework – constructed from long lasting, supremely strong, 32mm diameter steel hoops coated with Armourguard. Armourguard is a combined zinc, aluminium, and magnesium coating which helps to create a high endurance tube with up to 20 times the corrosion resistance of standard pre-galvanised steel tube. The hoops are supplied as a two-piece hoop, making the hoops stronger and making construction easier. These hoops are spaced at either 5ft or 6ft intervals, depending on the length of tunnel chosen.  

Lengths where hoops are 5ft apart: 10ft, 15ft, 20ft, 25ft, 30ft, 35ft, 40ft, 45ft, 50ft, 55ft, 60ft.
Lengths where hoops are 6ft apart: 12ft, 18ft, 24ft, 36ft, 42ft, 48ft.

Anti-Hot Spot Tape – acting as an insulation between the metal of the polytunnel tunnel frame and the cover, it prevents the build-up of damaging hot spots and reduces the likelihood of the hoops rubbing against the polythene. Your kit includes sufficient take for all the hoops.

Polythene Cover Options – choose either a clear or diffused polythene to cover when ordering your polytunnel kit. Both are a 720 gauge, UV ‘open’ polythene allowing UV light to reach your plants, providing the benefits of enhanced fragrance, taste, colour, earlier harvesting, and longer post-harvest shelf life. In addition, these films promote plant antioxidants which are good for plant health and encourage stronger growth. The clear polythene has excellent clarity, with light transmission of up to 92% and is a good choice for northern and western regions where lower light levels naturally occur. The light-diffusing polythene scatters the light as it passes through the polythene enabling the light to penetrate deep into the plant canopy as it hits the plants from all directions not just from the direction of the sun. Thanks to its unique anti-condensation additive this diffused polythene can control condensation on the underside of the cover. Light transmission is approx. 2% less than clear, at approx. 90%. 

Timber Door Frames – timber battens are included for you to form the door frames and fix to the end hoops of the polytunnel. Frames are provided for both ends of the tunnel. 

PVC 3 in 1 Zip / Velcro Door – this simple door features two heavy-duty zips and a velcroed panel which can be removed partially or fully for ventilation. Two Velcro tabs can be used to secure the door in place, out of the way, on hot summer days. The door is easy to install, simply baton the door panel to the wooden door frame. When ordering choose from a door at one end or both ends.

14ft Wide - this has 3ft 6in (107cm) high straight sides and is 7ft 6in (2.3m) high in the centre.
